Secondary oil production, and alternative energy sources.
Overview
We are currently seeking investment opportunities in secondary oil production projects in Latin America, and investments in alternative energy sources like Ethanol production from sugar cane.
Oil
Global oil consumption is forecast to grow from 82 million barrels per day to 111 million barrels per day over the next 20 years. Much more fuel must be found simply to keep prices from rising dramatically.
There are two stages of oil recovery: Primary and secondary extraction. Primary recovery methods, such as Vertical Drilling, are the recovery steps first taken when a well is found. This method typically achieves a recovery of up to 30% of a wells Original Oil in Place (OOIP).
In order to achieve a higher recovery rate, secondary extraction methods such as Horizontal Drilling may be used. Horizontal Drilling penetrates a greater length of the reservoir and may recover up to 70% of the OOIP , a significant improvement in the recovery efforts of a vertical well. We believe that by using secondary extraction methods we can tap into existing oil wells and dramatically improve the recovery efforts of some Latin American oil companies.
Therefore our goal is to partner with local and international operators with a strong track record and help through the process of securing concessions for oil fields that are experiencing diminishing returns with their existing infrastructure.
Ethanol
Ethanol is a clean-burning, high-octane fuel that is produced from renewable sources. At its most basic, ethanol is grain alcohol, produced from crops such as corn. Because it is domestically produced, ethanol helps reduce a country's dependence upon foreign sources of energy.
Pure, 100% ethanol is not generally used as a motor fuel; instead, a percentage of ethanol is combined with unleaded gasoline. This is beneficial because the ethanol:
• decreases the fuel's cost
• increases the fuel's octane rating
• decreases gasoline's harmful emissions
We are currently entertaining investment opportunities in Ethanol production in countries where there is an evident legislative shift to blending unleaded fuel with this renewable source of energy.
